The interclub ladder is a competition between two clubs. Members of both clubs register teams in a shared ladder, play matches against each other, and at the end the club whose teams scored the most points wins. The result updates both clubs' positions on the global club ranking — a public leaderboard that shows how every club on the platform compares to one another.
This is separate from the regular ladder competition inside your own club. You can participate in both at the same time.
Every club on the platform has a club ELO rating, starting at 1000 when the club is created. You can view the full global ranking on the Club Ladder page — no login required. Clubs are listed from highest to lowest rating, and your own club is highlighted if you are logged in.
Your club's rating goes up when it wins an interclub ladder and down when it loses. The exact change depends on the difference in rating between the two clubs going into the competition — beating a stronger club earns more points than beating a weaker one.
Only club admins can send challenges on behalf of their club. If you are a regular member and want your club to challenge another, ask one of your club's admins to do it.
Go to the Club Ladder page from the main navigation. Click the Challenge a Club button in the top right — this button is only visible if you are an admin of at least one club.
Fill in the form:
Your club — if you are admin of multiple clubs, select which one is sending the challenge. If you only manage one club, it is selected automatically.
Opponent club — search for the club you want to challenge by name. The search shows all clubs from the global ranking. You cannot select your own club.
Sport — choose the sport type for the ladder:
The sport determines the team size. Once the challenge is sent, the team size is fixed and cannot be changed.
Duration — how many days the ladder will run. Use one of the quick presets (1 week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks, 1 month) or type a custom number of days. The duration is a guideline — an admin still needs to close the ladder manually when it is over.
Once you submit the form, all admins of the challenged club receive a notification immediately. You will be redirected to your club's challenges page where you can track the status.
Only an admin of the challenged club — the club that received the challenge — can accept or decline it. The club that sent the challenge has no action to take; they wait for a response.
When your club receives a challenge, all admins get a notification. Open the notification or navigate to the Club Ladder page — incoming pending challenges appear in a yellow banner at the top of the page. Click View Challenge to go to your club's challenges page, then find the pending challenge and click Accept or Decline.
The challenge must still be in pending status for you to respond. If it has already been accepted, declined, or is already active, no action can be taken on it.
The interclub ladder is created immediately with the sport type and duration the challenger specified. You are redirected straight to the new ladder where both clubs' members can already start registering teams. All members of the challenging club receive a notification that their challenge was accepted.
The challenge is marked as declined. The challenging club is notified. No ladder is created. The challenging club is free to send a new challenge at any point.
Any member of either of the two participating clubs can create or join a team in the ladder. If you are not a member of either club, you cannot participate. Join one of the clubs first via its club page.
You can only be part of one team per ladder. You cannot create a second team or join another team if you are already in one.
The active interclub ladder appears in the Ladders section of either club. You can also reach it via the notification you received when the challenge was accepted.
On the ladder page, click Create Team and enter a name. The team name must be unique within the ladder — you will get an error if the name is already taken.
Singles ladders (team size 1): Your team is active immediately after creation and appears in the standings right away. You are ready to play.
Doubles and padel ladders (team size 2): Your team is created in a pending state. It needs a second member before it becomes active and visible in the standings. Share your team name with your partner and ask them to navigate to the ladder page and join your team. Your partner must be a member of one of the two participating clubs — they do not have to be from the same club as you. Mixed-club teams are allowed. Once your partner joins, the team becomes active automatically.
Once your team is active, the system schedules matches for you automatically. You do not need to do anything to get matched — the scheduler runs periodically and proposes matches based on the following rules:
Confirming, playing, and reporting match results works exactly the same as in a regular ladder. See the general match guide for full details. Your team's ELO rating updates after each completed match, which affects your position in the standings.
The standings are visible on the interclub ladder page at any time. Teams are listed from highest to lowest ELO rating. The standings show each team's name, which club they represent, their current rating, and their number of wins and losses.
The standings update in real time as matches are completed and ratings change.
When the ladder is closed, the system looks at the final ELO positions of the top 5 teams across both clubs and awards points accordingly:
| Final position | Points for the club | |---|---| | 1st | 10 | | 2nd | 7 | | 3rd | 5 | | 4th | 3 | | 5th | 1 |
Teams ranked 6th or lower score 0 points for their club. Each club's total is calculated by adding up the points from all of their teams in the top 5.
The club with the higher total wins the interclub ladder. In the event of a tie, the club whose team holds the higher ELO rating wins.
Example: Club A has teams ranked 1st and 4th (10 + 3 = 13 points). Club B has teams ranked 2nd and 3rd (7 + 5 = 12 points). Club A wins.
After the ladder is closed, both clubs' ELO ratings on the global club ranking are updated. The winning club gains rating points and the losing club loses rating points. The exact change depends on the difference between the two clubs' current global ratings — a win against a higher-rated club earns more points.
An admin of either of the two participating clubs can close the ladder.
Navigate to the interclub ladder page and click Close Ladder. A confirmation dialog appears — confirm to proceed.
